CONSTRUCTION
The Goodyear welt construction is an artisanal process dating back to 1869, introduced by Charles Goodyear Jr., and is still regarded today as one of the finest methods in terms of durability, comfort, and repairability. This technique is highly valued in luxury footwear because it offers:
- Superior moisture resistance – The particular stitching method prevents water from seeping into the shoe.
- Progressive comfort – The cork filling molds to the shape of the foot, creating a nearly custom insole.
- Long lifespan – The ability to resole the shoe extends its life for decades if properly maintained.
SOLE
Leather sole with a Vibram rubber half-sole for optimal grip. We have selected the finest Italian bovine leather, ensuring exceptional wear resistance and greater flexibility, providing stability and comfort in every situation.
LEATHER
For this shoe, we have chosen full-grain calf leather, an exquisite material of unmatched quality. Soft and natural to the touch, this leather is highly breathable, making it particularly resistant to moisture and wear. The term full-grainrefers to the highest quality leather layer, where the natural pores remain visible—a distinctive mark of excellence.
COLOR
The leather is dyed using a wooden drum tanning process. The hides are immersed in water mixed with natural dyes, allowing the color to penetrate deeply into the fibers. Thanks to the continuous rotation of the drum and a controlled temperature of 50-60°C, the leather acquires rich, long-lasting shades while preserving its natural beauty.
